About Us
The parenting journey is one of the most magical and rewarding experiences a family can go through. It can also be one of the most exhausting and challenging life transitions. Living in a fast paced world with so much conflicting information at our fingertips often leaves parents feeling isolated, confused and uncertain. Our mission is to help families navigate through the information overload and empower them to trust their instincts. Whether you are seeking improved sleep, emotional wellness or overall balance for your family we are here to offer you meaningful, personalized support.
Joanna Silverman M.Ed, CHHC
Joanna is an educator, holistic health counselor and mother of two children. She has over twenty years of teaching experience with children ranging from infancy to 22 years of age and has spent the last ten years consulting to schools and families. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Special Education and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Development from Wheelock College; two Massachusetts teacher certifications; and is a certified holistic health counselor. Joanna has continued her education by completing the Social Thinking Clinical training with Michelle Garcia Winner, Collaborative Problem Solving with Ross Green, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy with Russ Harris. In addition to her teaching certifications she is a certified PEERS for school aged adolescents instructor and a certified Trauma Informed Yoga instructor. Prior to Isis Parenting’s closing in January 2014, Joanna was trained as a pediatric sleep consultant by Isis Parenting's Pediatric sleep team and worked as a Parent Consultant supporting families in the areas of behavior and sleep. Joanna enjoys working with individual families to develop plans that they are comfortable implementing while considering the needs of each baby/child’s development and personality. When working with children individually, Joanna offers a solution focused approach to support overall psychological flexibility and emotional wellness. In relation to all of her training and experience, Joanna believes most importantly that she is an educator who became a mother and knows the joys and struggles of parenting. The journey of motherhood has made her realize the importance and need of supporting families, children and adolescents to live a healthy, balanced life, through nurturance, emotional wellness, healthy eating and sleep habits.
